Synthesis, spectroscopic, cyclic voltammetry properties and molecular structure of the thiocyanato-N meso-tetratolylporphyrinato zinc(II) ion complex

International audience; This paper describes the synthesis of the (thiocyanato-N)(meso-tetratolylporphyrinato)zinc(II) chlorobenzene monosolvate complex with the formula [K(2,2,2-crypt)][Zn(TTP)(NCS)]·C6H5Cl (I) using the cryptand-222 to solubilize potassium thiocyanate in chlorobenzene solvent. Complex (I) has been characterized by elementary analysis, IR, UV–vis, 1H NMR and MS, and the structure of this new zinc(II) metalloporphyrin been examined crystallographically. A cyclic voltammetry investigation was also carried out on this species. An original 1D Cu–Co heterometallic compound: synthesis, structure and magnetic properties

A novel heterobimetallic system, 1∞[LCuIICoII(NCS)2] (1), was obtained by reacting the neutral mononuclear complex [LCu] with cobalt(II) acetate in the presence of potassium thiocyanate (L is the dianion of the Schiff base resulting from the 2 ∶ 1 condensation of 3-methoxysalicylaldehyde with 1,3-propanediamine). The crystallographic investigation of 1 reveals a one-dimensional alternating zig-zag chain-like structure, made of dinuclear {LCuCo} units linked by thiocyanate bridges. The copper(II) ion is pentacoordinate to the N2O2 donor set of the Schiff base ligand in the basal plane, with the apical position occupied by the sulfur atom. Influence of sample pan on the thermal behaviour of KSCN measured with TG

Abstract In this study, the influence of the sample pan on the thermal behaviour of potassium thiocyanate (KSCN) was investigated. The measurements were performed with thermogravimetry (TG) and the two sample pans used were a platinum pan and a ceramic crucible. The samples were heated to 400–950 °C and the thermal products were identified by powder diffraction. The thermal behaviour of KSCN was found to be dependent on the sample pan used. With the platinum sample pan KSCN reacted in the first step into a mixture of K 2 SO 4 and potassium tetracyanoplatinate (K 2 Pt(CN) 4 ).
